Cheryl flew to New York today for a five-month research leave. In thirty five years of marriage the longest we have been apart is a couple of weeks. At least we can video chat on a regular basis and we will see each other several times during the period.
If I had time I would keep a public journal on the psycho-social adjustments. Now that would be entertaining reading. But then again I'm not that big of a fool.

Yes, I think it best that our psycho-social adjustments be keep private. Saying that, I am sure it will be clear to anyone who reads your blog or our facebook pages that we are going to have a hard, hard time adjusting. I am already lonely and I haven't been here 24 hours. You will do really fine. Perhaps God has some blessings in store for you (and me) during our time apart.
